MPH Nutrition and Dietetics
Important Catalog Information for Summer 2020 Matriculants
Due to the planned consolidation during the summer of 2020, of the University of South Florida, the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, into a single university with a fully aligned and integrated curriculum and a single set of academic policies and procedures, any undergraduate or graduate student who matriculates at one of the three USF institutions on or after May 18, 2020, will adhere to the curricula, policies, and procedures described in the 2020-21 USF undergraduate or graduate catalog, respectively.

The MPH in Public Health with a Concentration in Nutrition and Dietetics is offered by the College of Public Health. Recommended courses to prepare for the Nutrition and Dietetics concentration include:
General chemistry
Bioorganic chemistry, Organic Chemistry, OR Nutrition Metabolism
Anatomy and physiology
Microbiology
HUN 2201 Basic Principles of Human Nutrition
FOS 4041 Food Science and lab or equivalent
The University of South Florida (USF) Dietetic Internship is an integrated graduate program coordinated with experiential learning to meet the standards of education and core competencies for registered dietitians established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The program's emphasis area is population health and service. It integrates a Master’s in Public Health, concentration in Nutrition and Dietetics, with supervised practice in a planned progression of learning activities designed to advance your ability to function as a leader in your profession, as an advocate for better health for diverse members of society and a compassionate provider of nutrition care and education. An international experience is incorporated in the final semester of the internship. The USF graduate program in dietetics is committed to the enhancement of quality of life for individuals, communities and global societies through service and through the nourishment of body and spirit.
