MPH Public Health Practice
Important Catalog Information for Summer 2020 Matriculants
Due to the planned consolidation during the summer of 2020, of the University of South Florida, the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, into a single university with a fully aligned and integrated curriculum and a single set of academic policies and procedures, any undergraduate or graduate student who matriculates at one of the three USF institutions on or after May 18, 2020, will adhere to the curricula, policies, and procedures described in the 2020-21 USF undergraduate or graduate catalog, respectively.
Concentration: Public Health Practice (Code: PHP)

The Online Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Public Health Practice provides students with the skills and necessary training to formulate public health policies, address issues, and promote change. Students can concentrate on one of several public health specialties, allowing them to better understand, improve and protect the health and well-being of the population. This program is designed to prepare experienced health professionals for leadership roles as members of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams.
The Public Health Practice (PHP) concentration provides a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge important for effective health professionals working in public health settings within the US and in global settings. Students in the concentration will gain skills related, but not limited to:
Public health practice
Epidemiology
Program analysis and inference from data
Development of programs that consider cultural, social, economic, ethical, geopolitical, and legal factors
Community- or population-based health policy and program planning
Budgeting and management
Master's Progression Policy
