DrPH Institute
The USF College of Public Health DrPH degree is completed through distance‐learning (fall, spring, and summer semesters) in addition to on‐campus learning via the DrPH Institutes. The combination of program delivery formats allows working professionals to broaden their grasp of public health management, practice, and research without interrupting their careers.
There are three mandatory on-campus Institutes during the first two years of the program, which align with required classes. These Institutes will be held in the Fall 1 (Institute 1), Summer 1 (Institute 2), and Summer 2 (Institute 3) terms. Institutes are five days long and will occur at the USF Tampa campus. In addition to the on-campus meetings, students are required to complete work before and after the institutes. Institute dates are announced 6 months prior via email. The Fall Institute is typically held the second week of September. The Summer Institutes are typically held in early June. Students unable to attend an Institute during the scheduled times, will be required to take those classes the following year.
Students are responsible for their travel arrangements for each Institute, to include lodging, transportation, and food. The area around campus offers a variety of options.
