A Student may request a course substitution though the Archivum system.  Once logged into the Archivum system the student can initiate the request by following the process below. Once the form is sent to the current graduate advisor they can either approve or deny the student's request. It is then sent to the instructor of the course (or department chair) to be approved or denied before getting sent to the Associate Dean for final approval. The student can view the status of the request and will be notified when the process is complete.

Any change to your program should be discussed with your graduate advisor before a change is requested.

Archivum Definitions
News:
Stream of business events generated by processes and user.

Tasks: Assigned work. This is where you will find all your assigned tasks.

Records: Important business data. Records show information about users, requests, etc. Actions can be taken on records.

Reports: Cumulative view of data

Actions: Processes that generate tasks

Related Actions: Actions that are attached to a record and can generate a task

Process:

  1. Initiate the process through the Actions tab



  2. Select Course Substitution
  3. Complete information for the course you have taken and approval to substitute 
    1. Course prefix
    2. Course number
    3. Course title
    4. Course credit hours
    5. Select if course was taken at USF
      1. If not taken at USF, please upload Syllabus
  4. Use dropdown for the USF course you want to use as the substituted course
    1. Your graduate advisor will fill in the information regarding the section number
  5. Provide justification
  6. Submit. Note that once the form is submitted, it is routed to the advisors in Academic & Student Affairs for initial review.
