The DrPH Public Health Laboratory Scholarship
Financial Assistance: Includes Tuition and Stipend where applicable
Amount Awarded: Determined per semester
The DrPH Public Health Laboratory Scholarship Program is part of a larger grant given to the Association of Public Health Laboratories to fund the APHL’s Public Health Laboratory Workforce Pipeline Project. Tuition assistance will allow students to participate in coursework designed and implemented by professionals in laboratory leadership positions with an emphasis on laboratory leadership, management, and scientific expertise. The overall aim of this scholarship is to increase the number of qualified public health laboratory personnel eligible to sit for the High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) examination to fill the current shortages in laboratory leadership.Â
Applications must meet all of the following requirements:
US. Citizenship, includes PR and territories.Â
Currently employed in a public health laboratory including city, state, federal, veterinary, etc. (clinical, research, and diagnostic laboratories are excluded)
Admitted to the Public Health and Clinical Laboratory Science and Practice DrPH Track.
Perform a bench-level doctoral research project in a public health laboratory.
Commit to two years of employment in a public health laboratory post-graduation.
