DrPH Institutes

During the first two years of the program, students are required to attend three on-campus DrPH Institutes, each aligned with core coursework. These Institutes occur in Fall Year 1 (Institute 1), Summer Year 1 (Institute 2), and Summer Year 2 (Institute 3). Each Institute spans five days and is held at the USF Tampa campus within the College of Public Health.

In addition to the in-person sessions, students must complete associated pre- and post-Institute coursework. Institute dates are communicated via email at least six months in advance. Typically, the Fall Institute takes place during the second week of September, while the Summer Institutes are scheduled for early June.

Students unable to attend an Institute as scheduled must postpone those courses to the following year.

Parking

To park on campus, you must have a parking permit. To purchase this permit, get additional information on parking, or to see the campus map for directions, go to the Parking and Transportation website at: http://www.usf.edu/administrative-services/parking/. You can buy a daily pass at the Visitor's Center or purchase a pass and use pay spaces (a machine is available in the COPH parking lot).

The Winn-Dixie shopping center on Fowler has 8-10 restaurants with a variety of cuisines. Examples: Jason’s Deli, Chili’s, Taj’s Indian, Tijuana Flats, So Fresh, First Watch, etc.

Many of the hotels listed below offer a special USF rate. If you choose one of these hotels, state that you are visiting the University of South Florida. Some provide free shuttle service to the campus.
