titleCOPH Named Scholarships

Term awarded: Spring

These scholarships are available to newly accepted or current COPH students in good academic standing and a minimum of a 3.0 GPA . (If you are a new student, the minimum requirement is an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better). Applications will be available in the fall term and be applied in the spring term. titleCoverdell Fellowship

Term awarded: Fall

The Peace Corps Coverdell Fellowship program is a Graduate Fellowship program awarding financial assistance to selected returning Peace Corps volunteers who are pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) or a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) degree. All Coverdell Fellows will complete internships in underserved communities in the Tampa Bay Area while working under the supervision of faculty. Through these internships fellows can fulfill the Peace Corps’ Third Goal: To promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. titleDrPH Public Health Laboratory Scholarship

Term awarded: Fall

The DrPH Public Health Laboratory Scholarship Program is part of a larger grant given to the Association of Public Health Laboratories to fund the APHL’s Public Health Laboratory Workforce Pipeline Project.  Tuition assistance will allow students to participate in coursework designed and implemented by professionals in laboratory leadership positions with an emphasis on laboratory leadership, management, and scientific expertise. The overall aim of this scholarship is to increase the number of qualified public health laboratory personnel eligible to sit for the High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) examination to fill the current shortages in laboratory leadership. Click here to learn about each scholarship and application process.

titleLisa DeSafey Jaap Award

Term awarded: Spring

This award focuses on how one, through research, practice, and/or coursework in the COPH, plans to build leadership, communication, empathy, and interaction skills among health professionals so that the priority populations served receive a better and more fruitful experience with the healthcare system.  The Application will be available in the fall term and be applied in the spring term. titleUSF Center of Excellence in MCH Education, Science, and Practice Funding Opportunities

Term awarded: Varied

The USF Center of Excellence in MCH Education, Science and Practice offers a variety of scholarships to support the work and education of those students passionate about maternal and child health. They offer the following scholarships, MCH Scholars Program (all graduate concentrations and degrees eligible),  MCH Epidemiology Doctoral Traineeship, MCH Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the MCH Leadership Professional Development Award. titleRussel S Kirby Scholarship in Maternal and Child Health

Term awarded: Fall

This Scholarship is for $500 and renewable up to 2 semesters or until you graduate. The awardee must have a professional or research interest in maternal and child health, but does not need to be enrolled in a maternal and child health academic concentration. Students must be a full time graduate student to be eligible.

Application is due in the Spring term through Awards Spring.
